Aluminium housed, wire wound resistors for chassis mounted range from 5 Watts to 300 Watts. An alternative range with of units with a large creepage from 25-50 Watts is also available. Both types offer a light weight, compact size and low cost with non-inductive models available as well as custom built types.

 

Thick film power resistors are from 100 Watts to 250 Watts and have the advantage of a good power to volume ratio.

 

Silicone and vitreous coated wire wound resistors are available from 25-1500 Watts in both fixed and adjustable types. The fixed types are from 0.1 ohms to 1000K ohms and the adjustable types are from 0.10 ohms to 130K ohms.

 

For high power applications a range of fibre glass resistor assemblies is available with ratings of 500-3000 Watts in free air to 850-6000 Watts with fan cooling. These units offer a low cost , low weight and low operating temperature, as well as an extremely high efficiency when fan cooled.
